Level Design
Independently designed the multiplayer racing level 'Crossing the Ferris Wheel', constructing a blockmesh layout and collaborating with the level art team to determine the thematic design. The level received above-average ratings in surveys, and a Ferris Wheel was subsequently constructed as a landmark in the lobby waiting room. The speedrun tutorial for the level has been viewed 19k times on Bilibili, the Chinese equivalent of YouTube. Meanwhile, the player-modified UGC level based on this level has been played over 825k times.
Gameplay Design
Designed the team-based PvP gameplays 'Snowball Fight' and 'Capture the Flag' independently, creating a blockmesh layout and delivering gameplay flowcharts to the programming team.
Onboarding Experience Design
Co-designed the gamified onboarding experience for the user-generated content (UGC) editor, collaborating with both the UI team and programming team during implementation. In addition, constructed a blockmesh layout and created three layout template maps, as well as a sample map for the editor.
Competitive Product Analysis
Conducted analyses of both Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout's level and gameplay design, as well as Game Builder Garage's onboarding experience design, providing the design team with insightful summaries and recommendations.
Playtesting
Evaluated feedback obtained during the studio's playtesting sessions, carefully balancing the tradeoffs and exploring potential improvements based on the collected data.
